Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

Formerly known as Newark International Airport, is an international airport within the city limits of both Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey, United States. It is about 15 miles (24km) south west of Midtown Manhattan.

Newark is a major hub for United Airlines, which is the airport’s largest tenant (operating all of Terminal C and part of Terminal A). United Airlines and FedEx operate cargo hubs. The airports in the New York metropolitan area combine to create the largest airport system in the United States, the second largest in the world in terms of passenger traffic, and largest in the world in terms of total flight operations.

In 2013, Newark Airport handled 35 million passengers, JFK handled 50.4 million, and LaGuardia handled 26.7 million.

John F. Kennedy Airport
( JFK )

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located in Queens, New York City, is one of the busiest airports in the United States. It opened in 1948 as New York International Airport and was later renamed in honor of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

In 2023, JFK Airport set a new record by serving 29.1 million domestic passengers. This contributed to a total of over 55.2 million passengers for the year, marking a significant rebound in air travel.

On average, this equates to approximately 151,000 passengers per day. However, daily traffic can vary due to factors such as seasonality, holidays, and events. For the most accurate and up-to-date daily traffic statistics, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey provides detailed monthly reports on their website.

JFK Airport has undergone significant developments over the years, including the opening of new terminals and the introduction of the AirTrain JFK, which began operations in 2003 to improve access to the airport.

These enhancements have supported the airport’s growth and its ability to handle increasing passenger volumes.

Rideght Black Car Service offers reliable transportation to and from JFK Airport, ensuring a convenient travel experience for passengers. However, if there are issues with their service—such as delays, unprofessional behavior, or other concerns—you can address them by contacting the company’s customer support or providing feedback through their app or website.

LaGuardia (LGA)

LaGuardia Airport (LGA), located in Queens, New York City, is one of the busiest airports in the United States and primarily serves domestic flights with some international routes to Canada and the Caribbean. Originally established in 1929 as Glenn H. Curtiss Airport, it was acquired by New York City in 1934 and renamed North Beach Airport. Under Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia’s leadership, the airport was expanded and officially reopened as New York Municipal Airport–LaGuardia Field in December 1939, later shortened to LaGuardia Airport in his honor.

Over the years, the airport underwent significant redevelopment, including a $8 billion modernization completed in 2023 that introduced state-of-the-art terminals and improved infrastructure. Today, it handles approximately 30 million passengers annually, with an average of 730-850 flights daily, and serves as a hub for major carriers like Delta Air Lines and American Airlines. Despite its small size, LaGuardia’s proximity to Manhattan makes it a vital link for high-density markets such as Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and Washington, D.C. Its operations are regulated by federal caps limiting the airport to 71 flights per hour to mitigate congestion.

Teterboro Airport ( TEB )

Teterboro Airport (TEB), located in Bergen County, New Jersey, is the oldest operating airport in the New York metropolitan area and serves as a significant hub for general aviation and private aircraft. It was established in 1917 when Walter C. Teter, a real estate developer, purchased the land and named the site after himself. Initially used as a test flight and production site for early aviation companies, the airport became an important training ground for pilots during World War I.

In 1928, the land was sold to the Continental Aircraft Company but was later repurposed for commercial and military use during World War II. After the war, Teterboro transitioned to private and corporate aviation, becoming a vital airport for business travelers due to its proximity to Manhattan—just 12 miles away. It has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey since 1949 under a lease agreement.

Over the decades, Teterboro Airport has developed into a premier airport for general aviation, handling corporate jets, charters, and other private aircraft. With its 21 hangars, three runways, and various amenities tailored for private aviation, TEB now caters to thousands of flights annually, primarily serving corporate executives, VIPs, and celebrities. Today, it remains a critical part of the regional aviation network, offering quick access to the heart of New York City.
